By letting God guide me my job is more manageable

Thanks for sharing. How true. My life is unmanageable, when managed by me.

I didn't think my life was unmanageable, I went to work, people were coming to me asking for help and they called me the Den Mother of the 4th Floor at the YWCA. People started coming from the 3rd and 5th floors, and I didn't realize I was a dumping station, taking on all the energy and didn't know how to channel it. It became a load I carried for 2 years prior to recovery, because I didn't know how to let go or was unwilling to let go.

I had to look at the number of times I moved, changed jobs, robbed peter to pay paul or only made partial payments, so I would have drinking money.

I am powerless over many things, but when I surrendered to the program, did the do things, my life became manageable, because I lived it one day at a time. When you carry all the yesterdays and the fears of tomorrow, you are missing out in today.

Through working the program, I found the God of my understanding. The 12 Steps were a way of enlightenment and freedom.
