V is for Victory. Victorious over my drug and alcohol addiction, one day at a time.

V is for Vow. A vow is a promise. There are many in the Big Book that have come true for me. I made a vow to myself to work and live the 12 Steps into my life, one day at a time. I didn't vow to stop using forever, it is a one day commitment.

V is for Values. I grew up with them, but lost them along the way. Had to go back and pick some up, others, I found better ones, but the most important thing was to live them.

V is for Variety. Variety is the spice of life. Add new things to your life. Life isn't just going to work, going to meetings, get an outside interest, a hobby for balance. Not to replace your Step Work but some me time and some fun time to step back and relax.
My thing was bridge.

V is for Vicinity. If you are in the vicinity of a bar, doesn't mean you have to drop in. If you are in the vicinity of a long time friend, one you use to use with, it might be a good idea, to walk on by. If you are in the vicinity of a remember when, it might be a good idea to remember when, and how the story ended, instead of how it started.

It is best to stay in the vicinity of people who are in the program, and you can all walk through this program together.

V is for Vanity. Vanity and pride gets me every time. It was again about applying the program and changing my attitude about me and what is healthy, what is ego, what is human, and what is ego.

V is for Vice. Are you still carrying around your old vices around with you? Have you done an Inventory. Did you do Steps 6 and 7? You do know that this is a one day at a time program. That means when your old vices raise their ugly head up in today, you work your program and apply the Steps. If they are particularly nasty, sometimes you have to apply all 12.
