Quote:
Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of
your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements. ~ Napoleon Hill

Romans 15:13 NASB
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:
O God,
You have provided me with visions and dreams. Help me to nurture them
as I would my own children. With You as my guide, they are the blueprints
and plans for my future achievements. May I listen to Your counsel and obey

Quote:
Only when we turn away from looking at our sin to look at the face of
God, do we begin to repent. Only by seeing that there is grace and
forgiveness with him would we ever dare to repent and thus return to
the fellowship and presence of the Father. Only when grace appears
on the horizon offering forgiveness will the sunshine of the love of God
melt our hearts and draw us back to him. ~ Sinclair Ferguson

Romans 5:20-21
Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath
reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness
unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our LORD.

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
When I finally turned away from looking at my sin and instead looked
at You for the grace and forgiveness I needed, I finally understood. The
sunshine of Your Love has melted my heart and drawn me back to You. Amen.

Quote:
Hope is some extraordinary spiritual grace that God gives us to control
our fears, not to oust them. ~ Vincent McNabb

2 Corinthians 4:8-9
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed,
but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not
destroyed.

Prayer:
My Lord,
Help me to experience the extraordinary spiritual grace of hope.
Unfold the mysteries of hope. Make it a reality in my life. In the
name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Quote:
Take heed of secret sins. They will undo you if
loved and maintained: one moth may spoil the
garment; one leak sink the ship; a penknife will
stab and kill a man as well as a sword; so one
sin may **** the soul. ~ Jeremiah Burroughs {adapted}

Psalm 90:8 ESV
You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.

Prayer:
Blessed God,
There is nothing that I can hide from You. And when
I try to conceal my sins from others, eventually they
do come to light. My "little" sins are just as damaging
as the big ones. Keep me aware of my sins that I may
immediately confess them and repent. Amen.

Quote:
Let the mind of the Master be the Master of your mind.
~ Anonymous

1 Corinthians 2:16 AMP
For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes)
of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But
we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings
and purposes) of His heart.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
Help me to cast aside all pride and self-reliance that I may surrender to You.
Be the Master of my mind, my emotions, my heart and my deeds. In Your
holy name I pray. Amen.

Quote:
Flee to Jesus and hide yourselves in Him, until you are clothed with
His humility. That alone is holiness. ~ Andrew Murray

Eph 4:1-3 NASB
Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner
worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility
and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,
being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
On my own, I cannot find humility. Today I flee to You, to hide myself
in You. Clothe me in Your humility. Open my eyes that I fully understand

Quote:
Beyond the preoccupation we all have with our needs, the rock-bottom
reality of prayer is the sharing of experience. No experience--neither
that of joy nor of sorrow--is full and complete until it is shared with
God. ~ Michael Card

Psalm 5:1-2 NASB
Give ear to my words, O LORD,
Consider my groaning.
Heed the sound of my cry for help,
my King and my God, For to You I pray.

Prayer:
O God,
My concerns and needs are a heavy burden. I cannot carry them on my own.
I come to You this morning to share that which weighs so heavily upon me.
In You I trust to lighten my load for I know in the evening I can raise my hands
in praise that You carried me through the day. Amen.

Quote:
To pray is nothing more involved than to lie in the sunshine of His
grace, to expose our distress of body and soul to those healing rays
which can in a wonderful way counteract and render ineffective the
bacteria of sin. ~ Ole Kristian O. Hallesby

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him.

Through me let there be a warm smile, and a caring heart. Through me
let there be a willingness to listen and a readiness to understand. Through
me let there be steadfastness, dependability, trust and loyalty. Through
me let there be compassion, forgiveness, mercy and love. Through me
let there be every quality I find, Oh Lord, in thee. ~ Roy Lessin

not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for
the interests of others.

for being in me as all my strength in an ungodly world and for me before
the most Holy God. Amen.

Quote:
Repentance is the biblical, correct response to guilt. The moment we
committed our life to Christ, our sins-past, present, and future-were
forgiven. God's righteousness was satisfied. But now we must maintain
fellowship with, dependence on, and obedience to God. This necessitates
confessing our sins to our Lord as we become aware of them. ~ Luis Palau

Psalm 38:18 ESV
I confess my iniquity; I am sorry for my sin.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ,
Guilt is a sure sign that I have not confessed and repented of the things
weighing so heavily on my mind. When I feel guilty, may I use that spark
to propel me into action. Confession, repentance and trust in Your unfailing
grace always leads to healing. Amen.

Quote:
Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or
actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities - - always see them
for they're always there.~ Norman Vincent Peale {submitted by Rev. Nancy}

Lamentations 3:22-25 NASB
The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions
never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The
LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him." The
LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.

Prayer:
O God,
Terrible things may happen but Your mercies are new each day. Though
my troubles may multiply, Your portion multiplies even more. Your
lovingkindness is without end. Praise be Your name. Amen.

Quote:
C. S. Lewis said true guilt is an inner alarm system that reveals sin
in our lives and shows our loss of fellowship with God. The Holy Spirit
uses guilt to prompt us to turn from our sin and back to the Lord. ~ Luis Palau

Romans 8:1-2
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me
free from the law of sin and death.

Prayer:
O God,
Thank you for the inner alarm system of guilt which reveals the sin
in my life. May I take note and take action. I will walk after the Spirit
and no longer my flesh. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,
a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all
of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~ Leo Buscaglia
{submitted by Rev. Nancy}

Ephesians 4:32 NASB
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as
God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Prayer:
My Savior,
You gave me an example to follow. You clearly demonstrated the power of
touch, a smile, kind words, a listening ear and how they dramatically change
lives. May I imitate you in all of my relationships with others that they may be
blessed and find healing. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Quote:
It is a peculiar quality of a fool to perceive the faults of others,
and to forget his own. ~Cicero {submitted by Chaplain Michael Clark}

Matthew 7:3-5 ESV
"Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not
notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your
brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the
log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your
own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of
your brother's eye."

Prayer:
O God,
If I start to pull others down because of their faults, turn my thoughts
to my own self. Guide me with Your Holy Spirit as I ponder: What
areas of my life need improvement? What faults can be changed into
attributes? In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Revelation 22:14

that they may have right to the tree of life.

Almighty God,
I admit that I have so many plans in which I have excluded
You. Instead I must seek Your counsel before laying any

No single piece of our mental world is to be hermetically sealed off
from the rest, and there is not a square inch in the whole domain of
our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all,
does not cry: "Mine!" ~ Abraham Kuyper

Quote:
To be grateful is to recognize the Love of God in everything. He has
given us -- and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is
a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings
with it immense graces from Him. Gratitude therefore takes nothing for
granted, is never unresponsive, is constantly awakening to new wonder
and to praise of the goodness of God. For the grateful man knows that
God is good, not by hearsay but by experience. And that is what makes
all the difference. ~ Thomas Merton, Thoughts in Solitude {submitted by Rev. Nancy}

Psalm 23:5
My cup runneth over.

Prayer:
My Maker,
You are the Source of all things. I experience Your grace and
mercy new each day. My heart overflows with gratitude even in
the midst of challenges. For I know that my Savior lives! Amen.

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Prayer:
Father God,
I am unworthy. I fall short of the glory of God every day.
But that is precisely why Christ died for me; so that I
would be redeemed, sanctified and restored. I cannot do
it on my own, but I can do all things through Christ Who

Quote:
When Satan tempts you to doubt whether you will be kept from falling,
you should tell Satan that you cannot despair when you look at the
