A is for Attitude. It often needs adjusting, while at other times, it needs to completely change.

A is for Acceptance. You don't have to like it in order to accept it. Accept what is in the moment, knowing it is subject to change.

Change: Awareness, Admittance, Acceptance, Attitude and Action.

Doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results means it is time to change.

A is for Authority. My God is my authority. Prior to recovery, I was the leading authority on everything, just ask me. I had to change my attitude. If I didn't know the answer, I would make darn sure that I found out. I had a fear of appearing stupid and validating all the abusive words I received growing up. I had a motto that said, "I can't stand stupidity, especially in myself. I use to go outside of myself looking for affirmation, validation, and acceptance. I was told, "My God doesn't make no junk!" I am loved.
