Prayer Request for my Mom

My Mom was at the North Shore in Minnesota for my niece's wedding and she had a stroke on Friday. She was airlifted to United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota where she had surgery to remove a blood clot on the left side of her brain. The surgery was successful and she has improved immensely after the surgery. She has lots of tests and the recovery is going to take time. I don't know how long she will have to be in the hospital there. When she gets home, I'm sure she will have many therapy appointments.

Please pray for her continued recovery and pray for the doctors and nurses taking care of her.

Update on my Mom. She was moved from the hospital to a transitional unit where she will stay for a couple of weeks for needed therapy. Please continue to pray for her recovery.

My Mom is going to be discharged from the transitional unit to home on Thursday. My niece is going to drive her home. There will still be PT, OT, and Speech Therapy. Please continue to pray for her continual recovery from her stroke. I appreciate your prayers and support.

My Mom was discharged yesterday and my niece drove her home. She is really happy to be back home. I'm going to go see her on Saturday after I pick up Josh from the airport.

She will still be doing therapy in Fargo. Please continue to pray for her recovery.

My Mom got a bad UTI and got sick over the weekend. My niece took her to the clinic on Saturday and she got medication. I talked to Mom yesterday on the phone. She said she is feeling better but feels pretty weak.

Please pray for her recovery from the UTI and her continued recovery from her stroke. She is doing PT-OT and speech therapy twice a week through August I think.

Here is an update on my Mom:

She is having her last Physical Therapy today. She will continue with Speech Therapy and OT. She is doing well. She is making great progress. They say it can take 6 months to fully recover from a stroke.

Mom is having trouble sleeping. I guess this is common with stoke victims. Her doctor gave her a prescription for sleeping aid which I hope will help her get a good nights sleep.
