Replace Discouragement

REPLACE DISCOURAGEMENT

Sometimes when we are discouraged the last thing we want to do is have some positive person come up to us and tell us to be happy. Discouragement is sometimes buried deep in our hearts and it is hard to look at the positive things in life. However, God wants us to be thankful in all circumstances. That means when we are down on our luck. That means when we are having relationship problems. That means when trouble continues to find us day after day. How in the world can we be thankful rather than discouraged? We can’t do it alone. We need to allow God to work through us and give us the peace, comfort and love that only He can give. Then we will not be discouraged but remember He is in control.

SCRIPTURE: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. List what issues you have.
2. Write down what you are discouraged about.
3. Know God is able to help you in all things.
4. Give Him thanks for who He is and give Him your problems to handle.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for being in control. Help us to remember to release our problems and issues to You so we can move away from being discouraged and replace our discouragement with gratitude and thankfulness. We know we need to allow You to help us because we can’t do this alone. Show us today what to do to stop being discouraged and start focusing on You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
We are to turn our eyes on Jesus when we begin to get discouraged so we can look into His wonderful face and know He is in control.

There is nothing in this world that is too big for God. We need to give Him our issues so He can help us out.

When we focus on our problems rather than God, they are going to look bigger to us because we are focusing on them and not Him.

God is good and wants us to give thanks to Him in all things.

God’s love endures forever despite what hard times we are going through.

FOCUS: 1 Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever!” (NLT)

We should practice daily the habit of replacing discouragement with gratitude and praise to God, our Father.
