Pet Blessing

I bless all pets, giving thanks for their love and companionship.

Pets come in many shapes, sizes, and personalities. I cherish the diversity of the animal kingdom, and I give thanks for all pets—past and present—who have blessed my life with their unconditional love.

Animal companions are also healers and teachers. Whether a child’s pet hamster, a service animal trained to assist someone with a disability, or a therapy pet visiting senior citizens, pets demonstrate amazing loyalty and devotion.

Caring for and nurturing these creations of God is a sacred responsibility. I pray that every pet has or finds a home with caring and loving people.

Companion or helper, I give thanks for the sacred role that pets serve in the world.

But ask the animals, and they will teach you; the birds of the air, and they will tell you.—Job 12:7
