Balance

None of us are as bad or as good as we think we are. When we begin to work through the steps we'll start to get a true perspective of who we are and this is usually a lot different then what we had thought about ourselves before recovery. Being all or nothing types, we tend to go to extremes on just about everything and this includes how we think about ourselves. Most of us have lots of negative ideas about who we are at the beginning of our recovery. In time we learn about balance which is something that's new to most of us. This allows for us to get right sized about ourselves, for the first time in our life. We'll not have to see ourselves any longer as having to be the best or worst in anything, but as we actually are, and this usually makes us pretty happy because, it's far better than what we had thought.
