Here's an update on my sister Deb:
Deb will probably go home today. She needs to drink tons more water and keep a better eye on her blood sugar level. As for the cancer, tests shows that it is growing and doctor's are going to look into a clinical trial. |

My sister Deb had an appointment on Tuesday with the cancer doctors. It was determined that there is no chemotherapy that she can take any more. (She has been on and off chemo for the last 8 years.) Deb is now under the care of Hospice. That doesn't mean that she is going to die soon. It means that they will make sure that she isn't in pain or discomfort. They'll monitor her meds, etc. and will be checking in daily to monitor symptoms and pain.
Please keep all of us in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate the road ahead. |

I went to Fargo yesterday to visit my Mom and Deb. They are doing okay. I had a nice visit with them. I helped them do a few things around the apartment and sat around talking. We also watched the end of the Minnesota Twins game. My Mom is a big fan.

My sister Deb has taken a turn for the worse. Her body is shutting down. She is dying. She is still at home. My Mom and Deb's daughter are caring for her along with others helping : my other sister and cousins. I was there last Sunday and she was using a walker. Now she is unable to walk and is using a wheelchair.
Please pray for Deb and all. |

On Thursday, we transitioned Deb into a hospital bed. She is still at home (which was her wish) - just in a safer and more comfortable bed now. She is sleeping most of the day. She is still eating a little each day. Hospice nurses are now stopping by each day. Her vitals are still good but slowly changing as she declines.
We currently have two family members with her 24 hours per day. This has been an exceptionally hard week for all involved. Your continued thoughts and prayers for all of us are appreciated. I saw Deb and my Mom on Saturday. My other sister Wanda was there too. The pastor from their church came over while I was there. He prayed, sang hymns, and read in the Bible. It was nice. I'm glad that I was there. Deb's death is imminent. She is getting morphine to ease the pain. I was able to give Deb a hug and told her that I loved her. She answered me, I love you too. Cancer sucks!! |

If all goes well, this angel should change daily. http://angelwinks.ca/images/angelpod.jpg |
Here is an update on my sister Deb:
In the words of Hospice: Deb is in a slow decline. She is pretty much bed bound and on a morphine pump. She has not had solid food with the exception of a bite here and there in almost two weeks. Deb's Hospice nurse believes she will make it through Thanksgiving but not much more after. Please pray for Deb and my family. Thanks, |
I have been and will continue to pray for you, Deb and your family. :42:

I'm going down tomorrow to see Deb and my Mom. My other sister, my brother, and Deb's children and grandchildren will be there too.
My Mom emailed me not to bring my dog Chip with me. She said that Deb is getting to the end. She is not very responsive any more. |
