ENCOURAGE OURSELVES

There may be times in life when we have no one around us to give us an encouraging word. We feel alone. We feel left out. We feel no one cares. During those times, we can still have hope. When we are afraid, grieving or lonely, we can reach out to God and be encouraged in Him. His word will bring us peace, comfort and hope. We can reach out to Him and allow His presence to fill our hearts, minds and souls with encouragement and strength to carry on. Thank You, Lord. Thank You!

1 Samuel 30:6 �And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.� (KJV)

Dear Lord, we know there are times in life where no man can give us what we need. There are times when we feel lonely because there is no one around to share with. There are times when we are grieving and no one can give us joy. There are times when we are lost and afraid and no one can give us comfort and peace. That is why we need You, Lord. That is why we depend on You. That is why we put our hope and trust in You. Thank You, Lord, that we can encourage ourselves in You always and forever. In Jesus� name. Amen.

When we feel we are all alone, God has the ability to fill our emptiness.

When we feel we are lost, God can direct us with His word.

When we feel afraid, God can help us and give us peace.

When we are grieving, God has the ability to comfort us.

When we are down and out, God can encourage our hearts and strengthen us in all possible ways.

2 Thessalonians 2:16a, 17 �May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father,� encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.� (NIV)

Focus: When we need encouragement, we can always, always depend on God for help.
