Being good To Ourselves

We don't need to be so hard on ourselves, we're all told at the beginning of our recovery, and it's important that we not. Now that we're in recovery we'll be learning how to be good to ourselves, which doesn't include beating up on ourselves for being less than perfect which we all do, and can still do if we are not careful. The goal of recovery is not to be perfect, or to keep beating ourselves up, we all tried doing this before we got to recovery and it didn't work. Doing this only serves as a way we'll become defeated. and when that happens it allows us to be able to end it all for ourselves. This is when we lose everything, this is how the problem we all have wins out, first from having it, and then by getting us to be so hard on ourselves. None of us can change the fact that we have this problem, but all of us can learn how to stop beating up on ourselves, and how to love ourselves again, and when we do, our problem can't win.
