Default Who Are These People ?

At first the people we meet in recovery when we're new seem very different somehow, but there's something about them that's familiar we can't quite figure out. We may be asking ourselves, who are these people and what do they want ? Later we learned that they are no different than we are, the way in which they are now perceived has changed only because of the program of recovery, but at the core level we still know them and they know us. Once we've reached wanting to be helped ourselves they are very important to us for they can help us where no one else can. Because they have been there themselves and more importantly they want to help us. Probably one of the most profound moments of our own recovery is when we realize it helps them if we let them help us. These people do want to help us if only we do let them.
