Default What Make Us Better

As a group there is probably no group that handles pain worse then we who have this problem do. It seems that all we were ever doing was constantly trying to avoid pain. No one likes to be in pain, but few dread it more than we did, and we'd do anything we had to so we could avoid it. And we went as far in doing this to the point where we started causing the pain in each of our own lives. The problem is now using us to destroy ourselves and the longer this goes on the worse it gets, to the point where we want an end to all of this, and many of us do just that. What we need to know and will find out through being in recovery is that the pain we've been trying to avoid is less than the trouble we've been causing ourselves by trying to avoid it. Recovery will show us how to get through any pain rather easily by teaching us that it's okay that we have it and to share our pain with someone else, and when we do this will dramatically reduce our pain to the point where we can now face it. Together we're able to get through any pain and become better because of it.
