KINDNESS

Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous and considerate. When we are friendly, we are smiling and looking for ways to get to know someone. We aren’t talking about us, but focusing on them. When we are generous, we are giving. We are seeing what the person needs and looking for ways to help them. When we are considerate, we want to put ourselves in their shoes and remember that life is not about us, but about them. What are some ways we can show kindness to others today? Where can we be friendlier, more generous and more considerate?

1 John 3:18 “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us today to show the truth by our actions of kindness. Help us today to be friendly with all people – not just those who are easy to be friendly with. Help us today to be generous in our giving and give what You have blessed us with so we can help others. Help us today to be considerate and not jump to conclusions but take into account what someone else may be going through. Fill us with Your kindness, Lord, so we can be reflection of You and we can make a difference. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We can be the kind people God has called us to be when we put our hope, our faith and our trust in Him.

God wants us to be kind to others even if they are not kind to us.

When we are kind, we are friendly, generous and considerate. When we are one of these things without the other, we aren’t making a difference.

Being kind requires us to give more of ourselves to others and allowing God to work through us to help them.

God chose us to be kind to others for a reason. Sometimes it isn’t easy but it is always possible when we rely on Him.

Colossians 3:12 “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” (NLT)

Focus: Write down one kind thing you can do for someone today – then do it.
