Default Rest In God

REST IN GOD

We all have problems. No one is exempt from them. Although we may not all handle our problems the same, there is only one perfect answer to each of our problems no matter what they are. If we want to know how to endure successfully through trials, temptations and struggles, God can help. When we rest in Him, He will carry us through the hard times. To rest in Him means to focus on Him, to read and meditate on His word and to allow Him to handle the situation. And when we rest in God, we will endure through those hard times and we will have peace in the midst of those hard times.

Isaiah 30:15b “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for always being near. Thank You for allowing us to give our troubles to You. We are burdened with the things of the world. We are burdened with sin. We are burdened with troubles. We want to rest in You. Remind us through the day to draw close to You. Remind us through the day to read and meditate on Your word. Remind us through the day to give You our burdens so we can have peace. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we rest in God, we will have peace.

Resting in God means we need to stop thinking about the things of the world and think about Him.

To rest in God is to study His word and use it to help us through hard times.

When we are tempted yet have God’s word in our hearts, we will better be able to resist temptation.

God doesn’t want us to fail. He wants us to give Him our troubles so He can take care of us and we can focus on doing His will.

Psalm 55:22 “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” (NLT)

Focus: No matter what is going on right now in our lives, we need to give our burdens to God and let Him take care of us.
