Default When We Feel Down And Out

WHEN WE FEEL DOWN AND OUT

There is a song that says “when you feel down and out, sing a song – it will make your day.” Music is uplifting and can make us stronger. There is something about the beat that perks us up. There are some words to songs that encourage us. However, the songs of praise we sing to our God can give us greater strength than any song of the world. When we stop to sing praises to God in the midst of our storms, He will lift us up, give us strength and help us to get past our problems.

Exodus 15:2 “The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him!” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know there will be times when we feel down and out. We know You will give us strength if we will only begin singing Your praises. We know You will give us power from within when we sing how wonderful and marvelous You truly are. We know You will help us to be stronger when we sing of Your love and Your mercy. We come to You today with songs of thanksgiving and praise. Make us strong in song to do Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our strength comes from the Lord. He can create a new song in our hearts.

When we sing God’s praises, He will give us strength.

When we have God’s song in our hearts, we will be strong.

When we have God’s song in our hearts, we will not be afraid.

When we have God’s song in our hearts, we will trust in Him.

Isaiah 12:2 “See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” (NLT)
