Default Seasons may change but God’s grace remains the same

Sisters in Christ

Living in an area where winter is a long and rather ugly season, I was not pleased today to see the first snowfall of the season. I just hated to see it start, knowing that it will be many months before we will see the warm sun and feel summer breezes. For some reason, it’s fine for the holidays, but once January arrives…it lingers too long.

There IS something about fresh snow though that feeds my spirit. As the daylight approaches, the glimmer of the snowy earth seems so fresh and new. Plus, I have to admit; covering the dull, gross, brown clumps of dried grass and debris is pretty refreshing. Perhaps I need a little snow in my life too. Wouldn’t it be nice to start again with a fresh clean “yard”, pure and untouched by the trials of the world?

My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand. Job 29:19-21

And if this did happen; what would you do differently? I might make different choices, associate with different people, pursue a different occupation, and…… But should I make these changes, my entire life could change. My wonderful children might not exist; my experience and opportunities to help others would dissipate. What of the times when I was able to offer words of comfort, or songs of joy. I have watched sci- fi movies where time travelers go back through the black hole of history and have altered events. It’s never a good ending.

Once again, I hear God’s voice telling me that this is all in His plan. As tragic or frustrating as events in our lives may be, He has a plan. No, he does not want us to suffer, but He also knows what lies ahead and our job is to trust in His voice. We are gifted with abilities that we may not even realize yet. Traits and talents that will allow us to guide our walk in faith. He doesn’t walk away, he walks with us.

The snow is a sign of a long season of cold and harsh winds ahead, but with that comes with a feeling of freshness and renewing. Perhaps our lives have seasons too.

Seasons may change but God’s grace remains the same. Be stronger in every season so that you will become fruitful. ~Malene Mendoza

Good Morning Lord, As the seasons change Father, may we understand our role in Your plan. We know you will walk with us through the snow, rain, cold and heat. Let us hear your words and feel your spirit on our journey. As always we ask for healing, wisdom and grace for others as so many struggle in this world. Let us remember. For everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under Heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1) Amen.
