Default God's Gentle Word

GOD’S GENTLE WORD

Sometimes we get lost. We get distracted. We get forgetful. The things of the world move us away from remembering God’s comfort and gentleness. So we keep seeking and searching for completeness and meaning in the world rather than in God. When all we need is His comfort. When all we need is His gentleness. When all we need is His love. It isn’t easy to put aside the worries and issues in our lives but that is because we are trying to handle them on our own. Let’s decide today to give it all to God and embrace His comfort, embrace His love, His gentleness, His mercy and His grace.

Job 15:11 “Is God’s comfort too little for you? Is his gentle word not enough?” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we can’t quite wrap our minds about how great You are. When we try to reason and figure out all that You are, we just get overwhelmed with it all. Help us to remember that we don’t need to know everything. We just need to know You. We need to remember Your comfort is ready for us. We need to embrace Your gentle word. We need to rest in Your grace and be grateful for Your mercy. Thank You, Lord, for Your comforting hand and Your gentle word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we remember how great and how gentle God is, we can’t help but feel His comfort.

Part of focusing on God requires that we remember who He is and how great He is.

God’s comfort is great and He wants us to go to Him for that comfort.

No matter what we are dealing with, God’s gentle word can make things right.

We should practice speaking with gentle words to others just as God speaks to us with gentle words.

Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.” (NLT)

Focus: Remember God’s comfort and gentleness is for us to embrace in both good times and bad.
