The whole process by which we are changed in recovery is very different from what most of us had experienced before. This is the mystery of how it works. All we do know is that if we continue to do the steps found in recovery we change in ways that we don't know until after it's happened. I've had this happen to me when my reaction is different from what it used to be about something. I can still remember how I used to react, but I'm not compelled to do so. This new freedom to react differently has somehow been given to me through the process of recovery. I will continue to be changed by recovery I believe as long as I continue to do the steps. Change we must or die we will !
