Default On and Off the Job

ON AND OFF THE JOB

Many of us have jobs where we have to leave the house and are gone most of the day. At those jobs, we can definitely do our work for the Lord. We can pray during our time at work, we can witness through our words and actions, and we can make wise godly choices. But what about off the 9-5 job? When we arrive home, we should still work for the Lord. All we do from morning until night should be done according to His will which means giving thanks, praying and witnessing to others.

Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father." (NLT)

Dear Lord, we are usually at work more than we are at home. We are busy making a living for our family and a profit for the companies we work for. Help us to remember we are to be working for You. This means at home and at work. Remind us daily to spend time giving thanks for the many blessings You give us each day. Help us remember to pray during the day and be a witness to others in our words and action. We want to live to honor and obey You and give You the glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.

We have work to do for God no matter what type of job we have. We can share God's word on the job.

God can help us during our daily work when we remember Him and pray during the day.

When we give thanks to God for our work and our co-workers, He will help us share His love with them.

In our work at home or on the job, we can definitely act as a representative of God.

God can help us succeed in His plans for us when we put our trust in Him.

Psalm 90:17a "And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful." (NLT)

Focus: Our actions and words on and off the job should be to honor and bring glory to God.
