Default When Things Are Going Right

WHEN THINGS ARE GOING RIGHT

Many of us reach out to God only when things are going wrong. When we are struggling, suffering or hurting. However, we need God in the good times and bad. We need God every day. We need to sit alone with Him even when things are going right as well as when things are going wrong. When we do, He will help us stay focused, strengthen us and prepare us for when the next hard time comes.

Psalm 143:8 “Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we give ourselves to You today. Show us how to live. Show us where to walk. We want to stay focused on You all day long – in good times and in bad. We need You every day. Thank You for this quiet time alone with You. Remind us throughout the day You are with us and we can trust in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we give ourselves to the Lord each morning in quiet time, He will help us throughout the day.

God wants to help us in both good times and bad.

If we will store up God’s word in our minds every day, then we can use His word during the hard times to draw us closer to Him.

Let’s not be like those who only go to God in tough times. He wants us to go to Him all the time.

Return to and rest in the Lord for strength and direction.

Isaiah 30:15 “This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.’” (NLT)

Focus: Be still and thank God for the good times and know He will be with you in the bad times.
