Default The Devil Made Me Do It

THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT

There was an old saying years back, “the devil made me do it!” Well, part of that is true. The devil does tempt us; however, it is our choice whether we do it or not. We can choose to turn from the devil and follow Christ. When we are humble and put God first, give our lives to God and allow Him to work in our lives giving us strength and courage, then we will be able to resist the devil by the power of and in the name of Jesus and He will flee from us. Praise God for His mighty power and mercy and love! God gives His grace generously to those who are humble.

James 4:6 “And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’”

Dear Lord, we are so grateful You are right here with us today. We are grateful for Your grace, Your mercy and Your love. We know we will be tempted but we also know we can humble ourselves before You and You will help us to resist temptation in Jesus’ name. Help us to stop saying we can’t stop sinning and help us to begin humbling ourselves before You so You can give us the strength we need to resist temptation and totally live for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we humbly ourselves before God and put Him first in our lives, He will help us resist the devil.

God wants us to live for Him and humbly come to Him in all things.

God’s grace is all we need.

Those who are humble will receive God’s grace.

God graces us with so many things when we humbly bow to and obey Him.

James 4:7-8a “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” (NLT)

Focus: Know you have the ability to resist the devil when you humbly go to God for help.
