T is for Trust. By learning to trust the program, we learn to trust our Higher Power, and through our Higher Power, we learn to trust ourselves. My sponsor told me that if I was doubting my God, I was doubting myself if I had been working the program and turning my life and my will over to Him on a daily basis.

U is for Unity. This is a 'we' program. We can do what I can't do alone. We need each other in order recover. Isolation is part of my disease, it is not a recovery tool.

V is for Vision. Do you have a vision for your future? Do you have goals? In recovery, all things are possible. Enthusiasm goes a long way toward working for recovery, because it is work. It is taking what you learn and applying it to your life, one day at a time.

W is for Watch. Be ever watchful for old patterns and behaviors slipping back into your life. This is one day at a time and we need to be ever watchful of not taking that first drink. We can relapse mentally, spiritually, and emotionally without physically picking up.

X is for eXpectations. So often we project expectation on others who are not capable of meeting them.

We need to lower our 'xpectaations so that they are attainable. Better stilll, don't 'xpect anything and then you won't be disappointed.

Y is for Yellow. It is the sign of caution. When we think we don't have to continue working the Steps we are in trouble. This is a living program. When you don't feel like going to a meeting, don't walk, run to the nearest one.

Z is for Zip. I like to think we have zipped our lips, and learned to listen, listened to learn. How can we know what we have never been taught. How can I live a new life, if I don't listen and learn how others did it before me. I have to find my way, but I need that Good Orderly Direction.
