R is for Restore. It says it could restore you to sanity, it doesn't say it will! LOL! As I tell everyone, you qualify for Al-Anon, you know me. If I had my way, I would hook up everyone with a 12 Step recovery program.

R is for Reason. A grateful alcoholic/addict will never have a reason to pick up if he/she remembers to be grateful. We are given a second chance at life. Doesn't come better than that, unless you didn't keep coming and didn't stay to work the Steps to take you to where you need to be for your recovery.

R is for Restore. This program not only restores my soul, it helps broken relationships, makes new ones, and strengthens our connection to our family. We can allow them to be themselves and we have a better understanding of where they are coming from.

R is for Repent. Not sure how i managed to get ourselves back to "P" no wonder I had trouble of thinking something new. I goofed, now I have to forgive myself. I know my God forgives me, but I can't take him for granted. I need to go to Him with a repentant heart.

R is for Respect. I need to respect myself in order to have people respect. Some people are raised to be respectful but in today's age of busy, very few have time for manners.

R is for Rest. You can't rest on your laurels. This is a living program and you have to resist temptation with the help of your Higher Power.

R is for Recognize. Recognize your danger zones, things that trigger your thinking before you think of drinking and using mind altering substances. Recognize that there are things that you can do, you just don't have to drink or drug while doing it.

R is for Reach. Instead of reaching for a bottle or a glass, reach for the AA Big Book or the NA Basic Text. Have you read some of the pamphlets that are available at meetings.

if you feel like using, reach for the phone and call your sponsor.

R is Reside. Reside in a place that you feel safe. If you feel that your sobriety is threatened, I would suggest that you find another place to reside. If you have to be where you are, hand fas to your God and keep Him close.

R is for Rejoice

Rejoice always!

Rejoice in your sobriety.
Rejoice in the manageability of your new life.
Rejoice in the blessings all around you.
Rejoice in your AA home group.
Rejoice in your ability to laugh again and have a sense of humor.

R is for Reason. A grateful alcoholic has no reason to pick up. He/She may find lots of excuses as to why they think they should pick up, but they will never have a reason.

R is for Repeat. Repeat the Steps when you get to 12, you start again at Step One. Repeat doesn't mean repeatedly coming through the doors of the Fellowships because you relapsed, it is because you are going to a meeting.

R is for Respect. Respect your elders. Respect yourself if you expect others to respect you.

R is for Review. This is what the maintenance Steps are for. We can review our day and look to see where we could have done better. We can see where we forgot our God behind and acted on self-will.

Review and renew your connection to your Higher Power.
