Do Not Fear

Read John 6:1 through 7:53

Justin saw the look on Stephanie’s face when the plane began to shake and rattle as they flew through the storm. He reminded her that God was ultimately responsible for the safety of the plane, and she need not fear. Before long they were safely on the ground, with their faith strengthened.

When the disciples were in a boat crossing the lake, a storm rose up. It was dark; the winds were blowing; and the disciples were rowing. On top of that, Jesus came to them walking on water, and they were frightened.

But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid” (John 6:20).

Have you ever had a situation or a problem that inspired fear? When Jesus came to His disciples, He was walking on the very waves that were causing their problems. He can walk on your problems too. When fear arises, remember Jesus. He can handle whatever you’re facing.

Prayer Suggestion: Ask the Lord to help you conquer any fears you may have.
