H is for Hump Days. Not just the fact that it might be a Wednesay, but my God is there to get me over the humps in my recovery road. He gives me a boost up or tells me to take a detour, which ever way I go, I need to stop and enjoy the scenery.

H is for H O W
Honest Open Willing |
H is for "Hello!" When you see someone, especially someone who looks to be hurting, smile and say "Hello!" A smile and a kind word can travel far when it is passed on.

H is for Help
When you need help...ask! Pick up the phone a call someone. When someone come to you for help, lend a helping hand. We are all in this together. You are never alone. |
H is for Heart. They say the longest journey we make in recovery is from our head to our heart. It takes a while to get there, and that is all right. When you get there, you will see it was well worth the journey. It speeds up the process, when you get out of Self and help someone else.

H is for Honesty. Honestly, my mind is a complete blank, so it is best I close up shop and leave things to a better day. As the saying goes, "Honesty is the best policy."

H is for H.O.W., which stands for Honesty, Open-Minded, and Willing. That is how the program works, self-honesty.open to receiving help and willing to go to any length to stay clean and sober.

H is for Hope. I found that when I have hope for a better tomorrow, I make healthier decisions in today. I am where I am at as a result of decisions made. What goes around comes around, so I need to be mindful of what I put out, because I am sure it will come back to me, often full force, be it good or not so good.
Hope your day is a good one. http://angelwinks.ca/images/iq/qc377.jpg |
H is for Home. Let troubles go, build a solid foundation to build your program on. Go to meetings, get a sponsor (you are no longer alone), find a home group (a place you feel comfortable at), work the Steps and apply them to your life. There are also the Traditions. They are applicable to our home life, our job, and dealing with the public at large. The tools are there for you to pick up, one day at a time, it does get better.

H. is for H.A.L.T. It is okay to laugh with, but not at someone, unless it is yourself. When you are not feeling well remember: Am I hungry, Angry, Lonely, and Tired. This is applicable to all aspects of my dis-ease, be it physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Many people are court jesters who laugh and joke around to cover up their hurt and pain. Other eat to much and stuff their feelings. http://angelwinks.ca/images/iq/qcancartooncat1.gif |
H is for Help. I got all mixed up and thought I was in the ABCs. In a lot of pain and some days it is hard to think through the pain. That is when I have to pray and ask for help.
